Things are a little hectic.....

I'm really sorry that I haven't been about much lately......sometimes life takes over. Things aren't going to improve anytime soon unfortunately as Mum and I are going to Ganny's again tomorrow.....we think for about a week.

Please try and bare with us! We have managed to keep up with a few people...mainly those that use Facebook as Mum can get some notifications on her phone, but if anyone has big news that we might have missed, please email us!

Today though, has been a good day. I went to my tennis courts to meet with my friends Sid and Meg. Mum says I'm so much happier (and interestingly better behaved!) when I have some pals with me!

Mum wanted me to start out with a muzzle and she's hoping eventually to be able to let me off my lead in open spaces......where there might be rabbit-dogs! I think I look a bit like Hannibal Lecter in this shot!

This is Sid with me. Yes I know he's going faster, but he isn't 2 yet! Sid is a Whippet x Greyhound.

Bottoms up! Meg is a Wheaten Terrier x Greyhound

We're waiting......

For Pete's sake how much longer are you going to make us stare at that piece of sausage?!!

And now I am home with me jim jams on and having a well deserved snuggle. I tell you; I'm shattered!

On a sad note, many of you will know that Au, senior cat at Katz And Other Tales passed away last Sunday. Au would have been 15 next month. He had had a short illness and his devoted Mum, Ellen knew it was time for him to join his old pal Scoop at the Bridge. I'm sure Ellen and Au's brothers Target & Guido would appreciate it, if you want to pop by.

Pip Visits His Spiritual Homeland Of Yorkshire!

Things were starting to unravel!

Lets test the resolve of the dymanic duo....!

Puddles: Dang it! Not only do dey drive on the wrong side of da road, dey have stoopid road signs too!

Pip: Aye, 'appen as mebbee. Blimey! I've only been here 5 minutes and already I'm talking like a native!

Puddles demonstrated her driving skills by doing a spectacular hand brake turn at the entrance!

Puddles: Geez Deccy really must have made some money in his racing days!

Pip: Aye lass. Where's there's muck, there's brass. Help! I really am speaking foreign!

Not wanting to take any chances with Pip's health Deccy insisted he visited Messrs Herriot, Farnon & Farnon for a check up before the fun began! Only world famous vets for our boy!

Pip: Nah then Vetnary, tha just mind where tha's sticking that thermometer.....

*************

It was decided that Pip should have a cultural tour of his spiritual homeland, and, thinking that they couldn't get into too much trouble the intrepid trio kicked off the tour at the Royal Armouries museum.....

Puddles loved the idea of Royal!

Though Pip looked every inch the King of all Yorkshire terriers, Puddles wasn't too sure that the colour of her hair was quite right!

Pip: Nah then wench Puddles, tha must be doin' ma bidding....

Puddles: What the freakin' heck is you talking about boy?! Anyway, I is Queen!

Puddles had a cunning plan to get the beers before Deccy did!

Next stop on the cultural tour... The Yorkshire Sculpture Park!

WTF!
Pip attempted to blend in, however, Deccy and Pudds had other ideas!

Pip: Reet, we've found rabbit, nah where do tha keep ferrets lad?!

Puddles: Man, can you stop talking rubbish and go find me some snacks? Darn place! No Cheetos and warm beer!

Did you know that the Bronte's came from Haworth Pip?

Puddles eventually decided that things could have been worse!

Pip: Eeeee! Tha can't beat a decent pint of Yorkshire Bitter and a packet of cheese & onion crisps!

Puddles: Like I says, warm beer and what da hell is crisps anyway!
*************

Enough of this cultural nonsense.... Let's have fun at the seaside!
WHITBY!
The birthplace of Captain James Cook, the inspiration for Bram Stoker's Dracula and home of the Magpie Cafe which serves some of the best fish and chips in the UK!

Puddles was most upset that the bracing Yorkshire sea breeze had displaced hairs #1 to #13376

Fortunately Deccy had the foresight to book a table!
Pip: Does tha think I can 'ave scraps with me fish & chips?

Puddles: This is getting boring Pip. You're AMERICAN for freak sake!
Mmmmm..... Nom Nom Nom...

Whitby Abbey
Nice set of teefers Puddles!

********

And so to the last part of the visit...

On location in Yorkshire... the setting for many great movies and television programmes including Last of the Summer Wine, Emmerdale and Calendar Girls...

Dey should have called it Last of da Summer Beer!
Does Chas know it's way past openin' time?
Pip: I've always wanted t'star int programme 'bout everyday country folk......

Puddles: I don't give a dedded groundhog boy! Dis place don't sell Cheetos neither!

Cheers Pip and enjoy the rest of your trip!

Pip: Eeeee thank you Deccy lad, that wa reet good that wa......

Puddles: And how exactly is you going to direct me outta here, when all you can speak is freakin Yorkshire? Huh? Freakin heck boy.......

Christmas has come early!

The other day, my good friend Mr Postman knocked at the front door and handed Mum a parcel. Nothing unusual in that, you might say, except it wasn't addressed exclusively to me! We NEVER get parcels here that aren't mine! The parcel was addressed to the whole family, so Mum said she'd like the novelty of opening it. Inside were three Christmas parcels; one for me, one for KC and one for my Mums, from my lovely Aunty Lynne and Dip Bridge & Elliot Well, having not been able to open the first parcel, I honestly couldn't contain myself, so I pinched my parcel and ran off with it!

This is what I found inside:

It's a stretchy fleece tug rope that Aunty Lynne made!

Mum must have been in a good mood for a change and said I could keep it. I demanded that we tested it immediately...

Oh yes, that is excellent! Strong but nice and soft on my mouth.

Mum was left with a bit of a dilemma....she said it wasn't fair that I had my present and KC hadn't got hers, so she decided she could open hers too.

Isn't he brilliant?! Aunty Lynne made him too. Mum said he is so lovely she was reluctant to hand him over!

"I know you are there but I am an aekward little s*d a cat so I am ignoring you...."

"Are you following me, Mickey?!"

"Hmmmmmm.....you smell quite good"

"Nom nom nom nom......."

By now Mum was feeling seriously left out, and being able to resist anything except temptation, she opened her and Other Mum's present too.

How cute is that?!

We think Aunty Lynne is really clever. For ages her friends have been encouraging her to share some of the fantastic things she makes by opening an Etsy shop, and now she has done it!

It's called Handmade Gifts by L. If you're looking for some great Christmas decorations or a unique birthday present, you should pop along!

Aunty Lynne has made us lots of lovely things since we've known her, so we thought you might like a look..

First came the little cactus that became the emblem of the Crocheted Cactus Club, of which I am President!

Then came this purrrfect putty tat that Aunty Lynne gave Mum for her birthday.

This is one of my favourites....my crocheted cricket ball!

...And Mum's favourite....her super warm winter socks!

So don't forget to pop along to Lynne's shop. She's adding new things all the time and they do come with my personal recommendation!

The Beccy & Deccy Show (with Miss Veil)!

Many of you will know my good friend Beckett and his sisters Maddy & Veil from Home Is Where the Hounds Are   Some time ago Beckett showed up wearing the most fantastic sweater. I'll be honest; I was jealous. I'm a red blooded boy, but if I'd have been a girl, I probably would have swooned.....

The boy looks good doesn't he?

Beckett and his Mum, Angela offered to send my Mums the pattern. After I'd finished rolling around on the floor laughing a short time I explained to them that Mum can't sew a button on and Other Mum is STILL crocheting the greyhound she started 10 months ago, so there wasn't a hope in hell of me getting a sweater for this winter.  "Never fear!" said Beckett. "I will ask my Nanny is she will knit a sweater for you. Nanny loves knitting..."

Nanny Jean (who I would quite like to adopt as  another Nanny!) said she was happy to knit me a sweater so I said I'd leave the choice of colour to her and Beckett. Now Beckett likes to think he is funny has quite a sense of humour, so said he'd ask Nanny to use the left over wool from Veil's new jumper......

Yes really funny mate. Not......!

I fully accept that real men can wear pink, but I live in Yorkshire, so it's not a good idea!

A couple of weeks ago Beckett announced that Nanny had finished the jumper and he was trying it on to make sure it would be a perfect fit. Beckett is a bit bigger than me, but we have the same deep, manly chest measurement!

How good is that?!

Having agreed the fit was perfect, Beckett's Mum parceled up the sweater, and last week it arrived!

I look good don't I?!

One of the best things was that it still sniffed faintly of Beckett, and there were even one or two of his lovely brindles on it!

It's a bit warm lying in front of the oven, Mum!

Enough of this posing Mum! We have established that I look handsome and hunky so can we now go for a walk so I can show off my new jumper  to everyone?

A very big thank you to Angela, Nanny Jean and of course me old mucker Beckett!
